As a fellow Mego fan I'm sure you can agree with me, Mattel's decision to call off their 8" Mego inspired DC Retro Action figures just plain SUCKS!!!!! Oh well, look at it on the positive side, We finally got a Mego style Flash, Green Lantern, Cheetah, Captain Cold, Two-Face, Darkseid, Martian Manhunter, Lex Luthor, Black Manta, and others, so things ain't that bad, I guess....
Meanwhile, check out this cool Video petition put together by a few guys over at Megomuseum.com. I'm sure You'll enjoy, and remember to make sure your voice is heard!

MCKENZIE MCKUSTOMS PRESENTS-GREEN ARROW!
Hey Boys and Gals, this is my custom, Mego style Green Arrow figure. This figure sports the duds I dig the most on Ollie, The same introduced in the classic, Green Arrow-The Longbow Hunters, by living legend, Mike Grell. Ollie's suit is a modified Brian Leitner number. I added green felt collar accents to his V-Neck, Boot tops, and the lower half of the characters top/Loin cover. His belt is handmade, including the buckle which I sculpted and painted. GA's gauntlets are also by yours truly. I painted and cut up some cheap fabric I found at the local five and dime that has a vinyl look, trying to stay true to the Mego roots. The figure also features an original Mego Green Arrow head that I repainted and sculpted a hood on. Bow and arrow set is by CTVT Toys, along with the boots which I repainted and added accents to. Last but not least, Green Arrow's Body is an original Mego T2. I hope You like Him :)

MCKENZIE MCKUSTOMS PRESENTS-SUPERGIRL
I had been wanting to produce a female Mego custom for quite some time now. I tried various Mego-like figures and nothing seemed to work to my specifications. As I often do when in a jam, I looked to the work of fellow Mego customizers I admire for inspiration. I found the solution to my problems in Mego's backyard. In Mego produced a fully articulated female action figure, Dinah-Mite. Dinah is cute, blond, and able to strike many a superheroic pose so, Bullseye! SG's entire outfit is modeled after late/great artist Michael Turner's version of The Maiden Of Might. handmade by myself, with the exception of the boots, which are modified Breyer Girl boots, and the Supergirl chest logo, courtesy of Doc Mego. I also banged out a custom card for SG, enclosed in Cast-A-Way Toy's Super Clamshell packaging. I hope ya' like Her :) I have a few more female Mego's planned, Stay tuned friends...

FEATURED CUSTOM - ORION
This is my first official post here at the McKenzie McKustoms blog, and I hope you enjoy :) First custom up to bat is my custom Mego style Orion figure. For those of you not in the know, Orion was created by the legendary King Of Comics, Jack Kirby (R.I.P), and is just one of the colorful cast of characters appearing in the classic DC Comics series, The New Gods. Orion also happens to be the son of the dreaded Darkseid, and one grade 'A' certified bad ass! Orion's head is hand sculpted, and painted by yours truly. The suit, gloves, and boots are repro Mego parts I custom tailored, modified, and repainted.
