MCKENZIE MCKUSTOMS RETURNS! AKA THE AXEL FOLEY EDITION

It's been a long time folks, but I'm back! Took a break from Mego customizing for a bit, but wheels have been turning while I was away and I have quite a few new projects planned starting with the first figure in My Renegade Cops line, Axel Foley! The iconic character made famous by Eddie Murphy in the Beverly Hills Cop films is one of my favorites so it was only natural that i made him figure number one in the planned series of five. Other planned figures include Harry Calahan (Dirty Harry), Popeye Doyle (The French Connection), Deke Dasilva (Nighthawks), and John McClane (Die Hard). Axel is built on a Type 2 Doc Mego body with a custom tailored CTVT Happy Days jacket, a CTVT Space 1999 head with hand sculpted accents and paints, and a custom card by yours truly. Hope you like Him, I had a blast making this one.

MCKENZIE MCKUSTOMS PRESENTS-GREEN ARROW!

Hey Boys and Gals, this is my custom, Mego style Green Arrow figure. This figure sports the duds I dig the most on Ollie, The same introduced in the classic, Green Arrow-The Longbow Hunters, by living legend, Mike Grell. Ollie's suit is a modified Brian Leitner number. I added green felt collar accents to his V-Neck, Boot tops, and the lower half of the characters top/Loin cover. His belt is handmade, including the buckle which I sculpted and painted. GA's gauntlets are also by yours truly. I painted and cut up some cheap fabric I found at the local five and dime that has a vinyl look, trying to stay true to the Mego roots. The figure also features an original Mego Green Arrow head that I repainted and sculpted a hood on. Bow and arrow set is by CTVT Toys, along with the boots which I repainted and added accents to. Last but not least, Green Arrow's Body is an original Mego T2. I hope You like Him :)

THE MUMMY PHARAOH STRIKES!

THE MUMMY PHARAOH by McKenzie McKustoms, on Flickr

This figure was dreamed up by my two young nephews. I asked them to come up with an original character for their very own Mego custom, and this is the creepy character theY cooked up. The skeleton body is by CTVT Toys, Everything else is by Myself (bandaging wrap, gold skull emblem, sword, cloth cape, kilt, and the sculpted, hand painted head dress.) This is a pic of the figure loose, I will be posting pictures of the figure in his custom packaging shortly. This is another proud product of McKenzie McKustoms.
